Busby Manor, Paihia

Busby Manor, Paihia

We were lucky enough to get involved with this project which had possibly the most idyllic outlook for a job site we’ve ever seen.

Set directly opposite the beach on Marsden Rd, Paihia in the beautiful Bay of Islands, this landmark building required a new roof.

Working alongside our Viking Roofspec territory manager and the representative for the owners collective, we devised a plan to make it happen and happen quickly due to summer bookings already being in place.

Once the scaffolding and shrinkwrap encapsulation was complete we could get to work.

The 800m2 roof on the building was covered with James Hardie fibre cement shingle tiles which contain asbestos. As we are licenced asbestos removalists we were able to handle this as part of our complete scope of works, which also included adding new purlins with the appropriate hardware and then the Viking Superstrand sarking substrate board.

Location: Paihia, Bay of Islands
Job Type: Roofing, Asbestos

Once these were complete we then installed the Viking ‘Certainteed’ asphalt shingle system and finished off the job with new Colorsteel Maxx 125Box gutter.

A big job with a great end result, finished a week ahead of schedule resulting in a bunch of very happy owners.
